And Fridays are a Freeforall

Notes from last weekend

1. Pretty flowers from the market. Dahlias are in season right now and I'm loving it!
2. Mid afternoon snack came in the way of yellow tomatoes, avocado and hummus toasts
3. Quetsch tart made with love
4. Sunny and Vince doing some running in our new courtyard

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thursdays are all about Doing

Last week we bought 5 euro tickets for a rugby game at the stadium around the corner from our apartment. Rugby is Vince's favourite sport and I love it too! I mean strong sweaty men in short shorts? Come on!!

We arrived at the stade just in time to get a few beers and a baguette with a merguez (spicy skinny sausage) Yummy right?! Not really. I ate a bag of chips instead. Other than the crappy concession stands the game was great! Rugby is a gentelmans game, meaning you cheer for the other team when they score and you never boo and are quiet when the other team is kicking. And after it's all over no matter what happened the two teams always go for a beer together.
Cool eh? I love hockey but rugby is a close second!

Wednesdays are all about what we Wear

My style crush is this girl right here. She's outrageous! I wish so badly I could wear mens suits and look cool. I think my boobs are too big to be all done up to my neck and highwaisted slacks have never been my round belly's best friend. However I do remember in 1997 I had the coolest pale yellow 70's men's tux shirt that I found at ValueVillage. It was hot! Unfortunately I seemed to be the only one in love with it. :(

But there has to be a way!

I want to be Janelle Monáe!

Tuesdays are all about Tasting

I bought some adzuki beans at the store over the weekend cause they were pretty...little russet red cuties with a white seam. (It's wonderful to love to eat and look at my food.)

After reading a little bit about them I discovered they are should taste sweet yet contain no fat, sugar, sodium or cholesterol! They are actually full of protien, fiber, potassium and iron, YAY! Now I really couldn't wait to cook them.

So here we go, soak over night, rinse and boil for 40 mins. Voila! Natures goodness sans human industrialized made crap!

We added some red onion, seaweed, fennel, tomatoes, germinated chick peas, radish, avocado and sesame seeds. I made the dressing with ginger, lemon juice, sesame oil, olive oil and herbs from the garden.
It was so filling and delicious!

Mondays are all about Being

Have you ever tried to meditate? I want you to know that it's not hard or weird, even a little bit. All you have to do is close your eyes and follow your breath. We're so hard on our selves and over think everything that we often never give this amazing easy free thing a try. It's the simplest and fastest way to relieve stress, aniexty, depression, distructive thoughts and the list goes on. Some people even say it can heal and reach the deepest down cells in your body.

Tara Stiles made a cute short video to show you how. I love her!

It's Friday! Let's get a move on!

Source

Hey guys, we're moving here! Just joshin'! No but really we are moving to Fontainebleau today. It's a small town outside of Paris centered around the château of the same name. It's also where Vince works. We've decided to make the move to save money and time. Our rent is 350 euros cheaper in Fontainebleau and Vince can come home for lunch every day! (he used to commute to work an hour each way) Also Sunny is allowed to run amuck in the gardens of the château! Sweet! So hurry up, pack a bag and come and visit!
See you soon!

6 ways to burn 300 calories at home

I read this on Fitsugar this morning. It's great for me cause the only exercise I do do is done at home. It's usually a work out video for 30-45 mins where I change between cardio and strength training. But it's always fun. No more punishing my body and feeling like crying anymore. If I'm not laughing or smilling when I workout than it's no workout for me!
What about you guys? Do you like to exercise at home or at the gym or outside?
