Wear Wednesday- Advanced Fashion

Don't you love this? Don't you love eyeballs and lips?! I can't wait to be advanced when I get older. What about you? Do you think age will being about dramatic changes in your style or are we doomed to be Gap and Old Navy shoppers for ever?

P.S. Thanks to Rebecca from GirlsGoneChild for sharing this.

Taste Tuesday- Sara's sweet corn ceviche

Do you read Sprouted Kitchen? Do you love corn? Well then you must know about Sara's sweet corn ceviche! No? Don't freak, I am here to bring you all the glorious details.

Sara is a veggie like me and loves market food too. Her blog is so well written and the images are beautiful and vibrant. True food porn wouldn't you agree?

You can find the complete post and recipe here. I swear you won't be disappointed.

F.Y.I. Corn is ending it's season very very soon so make this recipe pronto! What else are you foodies cooking up with the last of the summer season fruits and veggies? Canning anyone? I want to know.

Love and Hugs

P.S. It seems like everyone is making a raw corn salad of some sort: The Bitten Word, Food and Wine, SusanV and Daley Dish too.

Be Monday- Greatful

 Source

What are you thankful for? Try taking this gloomy Monday morning to think of a few things.... I guarantee it's an instant pick me up. There's no room in your heart for anger or sadness when you are being thankful.

          Lynn Hayes explains why:
Gratitude is an emotion that is felt primarily in the heart center. On a mundane level a practice of gratitude helps us to maintain perspective about our lives. On a more esoteric level, gratitude opens the heart center which helps us to ascend from the ego into an experience of divine love and consciousness. This openness helps to unlock the blocks of fear which opens the door to transformation.

Gratitude also helps us to expand beyond judgment and restriction. When we approach the experiences of our life with a sense of gratitude, it becomes much easier for us to see every experience as an opportunity for growth and transformation rather than a burden. It is impossible to be a victim when we are grateful for what we have been given.

So go ahead, cultivate graditude and Move on in your life.

P.S I am thankful for you and your loving friendship, it certainly keeps my head above water!

P.S.S. I just read by weekly horoscope and it too is reminding me to be thankful:
"You can be pretty hard on yourself, Pisces, so how about doing a nice 180? Take a time out this week to acknowledge all your hard work and growth, especially any progress you’ve made since the new moon in Pisces six months ago. What do you love about your life as it is now? Surely you can find at least ONE thing, if not one hundred. Where can you see marked improvement in yourself, even if you did have to walk through the fire to get there? These are no small things, Pisces"

Cool eh?

1. Pretty flowers from the market. Dahlias are in season right now and I'm loving it!
2. Mid afternoon snack came in the way of yellow tomatoes, avocado and hummus toasts
3. Quetsch tart made with love
4. Sunny and Vince doing some running in our new courtyard

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thursdays are all about Doing

Last week we bought 5 euro tickets for a rugby game at the stadium around the corner from our apartment. Rugby is Vince's favourite sport and I love it too! I mean strong sweaty men in short shorts? Come on!!

We arrived at the stade just in time to get a few beers and a baguette with a merguez (spicy skinny sausage) Yummy right?! Not really. I ate a bag of chips instead. Other than the crappy concession stands the game was great! Rugby is a gentelmans game, meaning you cheer for the other team when they score and you never boo and are quiet when the other team is kicking. And after it's all over no matter what happened the two teams always go for a beer together.
Cool eh? I love hockey but rugby is a close second!

Wednesdays are all about what we Wear

My style crush is this girl right here. She's outrageous! I wish so badly I could wear mens suits and look cool. I think my boobs are too big to be all done up to my neck and highwaisted slacks have never been my round belly's best friend. However I do remember in 1997 I had the coolest pale yellow 70's men's tux shirt that I found at ValueVillage. It was hot! Unfortunately I seemed to be the only one in love with it. :(

But there has to be a way!

I want to be Janelle Monáe!

Love and Hugs
