Amberlie's pics from Silvia's wedding

Good morning everybody! I was just going through trying to organize my pictures..an ongoing process, and came across these great photos Amberlie and Doug took on our trip to Italy. Aren't they gorgeous? Well the first one is just one of the many stops for prosecco..the Italian equivalent to champagne. It's cheaper, crisp, cold and sooooooo good! We drank as much as we could oh and the coffee, am I right Doug? He loved the cheap espresso everywhere. Oh how I long for that trip! It was so wonderful to spend time in Italy with Amberlie and her family!

Maniago, Church and Silvia walking down the aisle

Goodmorning Everybody! Isn't Maniago beautiful? I was totally stunned at all the mountains and green rolling hills around this little town. And isn't the church so adorable? The wedding was at 12 noon and before the ceremony we were invited to Silvia's family's house for nibblies and belinis. Around 11:45 we all walked to the church together through the town. The service was lovely and emotional and Silvia looked so hot! After pictures were taken we all got into a bus and headed to the reception venue....a small restaurant on the outskirts of town and boy did we EAT! I will post some more pics tomorrow.

Happy Weekend, here's some Maniago!

Good Morning everybody! These pictures are from our first day in Manaigo last Saturday. We arrived in the afternoon and after checking into the hotel went down to the main piazza to see what was happening. There was a festival with music, games and food! Men were selling BBQ'd sardines and grilled polenta so of course we had to have a taste. They were delicious but the polenta not so much. We had a few plastic glasses full of prosecco for 1 euro and headed over to Silvia's family's house for dinner. They had the backyard BBQ all fired up with veal brochettes, sausages, pork and polenta. We sat down to a beautiful meal for a group of 21 people all there to help Silvia and Gary celebrate the night before their wedding. The food was amazing, we had beans, tomatoes, salad, cheese, some kind of amazing smoked meat with arugula and olive oil on top and of course all the BBQ'd meat! What a lovely meal...oh and don't forget about the limoncello toast at the end of the evening. Just Perfect!
What are you up to this weekend? Alexis and his cousin are coming to visit from Strasbourg and we will be missing you.

Music Videos in Venice

Good morning everybody. I took a few videos on our trip that I wanted to share with you. The first one is of a small concert we stumbled upon while walking around the Rialto bridge late last thursday night. It was in the old market area and there were vendors selling wine, beer and food. The music was great and everyone was dancing even a few children. I just loved the setting of the concert, down by the Grand Canal and in between the stone columns of the market. I hope you like it too.

Music Videos in Venice

After the concert we wandered through the streets trying in vain to get home on our own. We stopped at every little bar that caught our fancy and the above video is from the last bar we visited. It was a karoke bar in the San Croce area and the Italians were preforming, "Pretty Woman". Of course we couldn't help but join in. Check it out.

Dinner in Venice with the Amberlie, Doug and Claudia

Goodmorning everybody! I have so many pictures and great experiences to share from Venice and Maniago and I thought I would start with food. I mean I always seem to start with food eh?So last thursday night Vince and I, Amberlie, Doug and Claudia headed to a restaurant called "Enoiteca Mascareta" in the sestire di castello. We sat at an old wooden table with a bench on the end for Claudia. The owner/waiter was kind and accommodating as we shuffled through the menu deciding what to order first. The restaurant is also a wine shop so of course we ordered a few bottles. Doug ordered a tasty bottle of Cabernet Franc and us a bottle a crisp white Soave. Later Vince and I shared a large antipasti fish plate and Doug had a melt in your mouth lasagna bolognese. Amberlie had an aubergine parmesan and was not disappointed. How they made the aubergines taste so good I have no idea. The night was capped off with a few glasses of formidable grappa and then it was time for bed! :)
I hope you enjoy the pictures. I especially love the natural look of Amberlie Doug and Claudia in the first and second one, what do you think? Do you love natural or posed pictures?

We're Back!

Hi Everyone! We are back in Paris and trying to catch up on the sleep that we missed while we were in Venice and Maniago. What a whirlwind trip! We flew into Venice last thursday and met up with Amberlie, Doug and Claudia right away. It was so much fun to hang around Venice with them all day and night. Totally surreal sharing dinner together in Venice and so blissfully happy. The weather was gorgeous, the company great and of course Venice was stunning. I will let the pictures speak for them selves. Hey what did you guys do last weekend?
