Happy Belated Anniversary Britt and Ryan

Goodmorning everyone! Yesterday was Brittany and Ryan's first wedding anniversary. It has been one year of wedded bliss for them and we hope the happiness and love will keep flowing for the rest of their lives together! Congratulations you two! I thought I would go into the vault and see what pictures I could find. Since I was the best man I didn't have that much time to take pictures and was sort of relying on the skills of the professionals from whom I would order prints later. The first picture is of the newlyweds cutting their gorgeous cake and then there is a picture of the brides bouquet and a few of Mom and Dad and Aunt Ann putting the finishing touches on the wedding flowers. I hope you enjoy them and it brings back happy memories from the day.
Lots of Love and Kisses,
P.S. I'm gonna call you Ryan and Britt later when we get into our new apartment around 3pm your time. I hope I catch you!

Picnic at Vince's work

Goodmorning Everyone! Today I made a picnic lunch and headed over to Vince's work to share it with him. We got some great saucisson au roquefort at the store the other day and one of Vince's favourite things is a baguette/saucisson sandwich. It's easy to make as we have a bakery right across the street from our apartment. I went over there and bought a half baguette for 45 centimes and came home to fill it up with saucisson....no lettuce,no tomato,no mustard,no butter just bread and saucisson. After that I whipped up a salad for me with a frenchie lettuce called Mache that I love and these new berries that Vince showed me called groseille . They are kinda like chokecherries or red currants at home. After that I packed it all up in my purse with an apple and some water and walked over to the bus stop. We always have lunch in the square across from Vince's office. It's nice spot with benches and big chesnut trees. What are your lunch plans for today?
Love and Hugs.

Making Mirabelle Pie

Good Morning Everyone! The other night Vince taught me how to make his favourite pie. Mirabelles are small yellow plums from the town of Metz where he grew up. Whenever we talk about pie this is the end all be all for him and I had been dying to try it. Mirabelles are finally in season so he picked some up at the market and we got to work. Thankfully it's super easy.
1. wash the mirabelles
2. put store bought pastry in your pie plate
3. cut mirabelles in half and arrange in the plate
4. put pie in your oven for 45 mins
5. eat your mirabelle pie!
Viola, it is delicious. Unfourtunately all the apartments in Paris seem to only have a toaster oven or this microwave that supposedly acts like an oven. It did pretty good, the crust was crispy on the edges but not on the bottom. It was so delish we ate it anyway! HA!
What kind of pies are you guys making right now?
Love and Hugs.

Cheese Market Video # 1

Hi Guys, here is a video that Vince's friend Alex made for me. Last sunday Vince and Alex went to the market at the end of our street to pick up some cheese and pretended that I was there along with them. Apparently the cheese makers couldn't stop laughing at them. Take a look.

Last friday in Toronto

Goodmorning Everyone, I am back in Paris and think I have slept for 24 hours straight it feels. I wanted to show you a few pics from last friday at Mom and Dad's. I have so many pics from the week and a half I stayed there and thought you would like to have a look. After we went to the butcher shop we came home and cooked up a feast on Dad's Weber grill. They were the best steaks I have ever had in my life and I'm not lyin. I don't know if it was the meat or the grill but whatever it was it was good! We had a little too much wine and got silly and wanted to see what Mom looked like with piggytails. What do you think? I think she looks so adorable I could eat her.
I love you guys and want to thank you so much for making my trip home so memorable and loving. As for my best girls in Halifax, the Soo and Calgary I will be out to hunt you down this December....watch out, the huggymonster is after you! :) As for the Kleins, I hope to see Delph this weekend and the rest of the family next month in Montigny. Yahoo!
Love and Hugs.

This one is for Vince. Hey honey! When were out last night you were missed greatly. Ryan and Brittany made a sign for you on a napkin at the restaurant and wanted to share it with you. I hope you like it.
I love you and see you soon!

C'est What

Goodmorning Everyone, Last night we went down to a bar/restaurant called C'est What. It's on front street near the St Lawerence Market. They are more like a Quebec Brewery beer restaurant thingie. We tasted alot of beer and talked about all of our first kisses. It was fun but Vincent was missed and Ryan made a little sign for him on a napkin. I will post that photo in a second. I hope you enjoy these photos of around the table.

Mom and Dad's local butcher shop

Goodmorning Everyone, I wanted to share some photos from yesterday with you. Mom and Dad came and picked me up from Ryan and Britt's house and we headed back over to their place. After we parked the car Dad and I walked to the corner butcher shop called "Vince's Gasparo's Meat Market". We bought two lovely striploin steaks and let me tell you they were mouthwatering to say the least. The two sons of the owner who work the counter are such nice and informative people. We even got to see them deliver a whole pig to one of their customers. What an event! Check it out.
Lots of love and hugs.

Thunderstorm in T.O.

On Thursday night after The Roxton we headed back to Brittany and Ryan's for dinner. The thunderstorm carnage was evident throughout the city. There was an eerie golden cast over the trees and storm drains were overflowing. You can tell by the look on Ryan and Mom's faces that there was a bit of pandemonium in the air. When we made it inside Britt whipped up some nachos and cheese and we happily chowed down after all the excitement. Did the storm effect any of you guys?
Love and Hugs.

The Roxton

Hi Everyone, I wanted to share some pictures from last night. Mom and Dad picked us up and we headed over to a bar called "The Roxton". It's Mom and Dad's local bar right around the corner from their house. It's a cozy little place with a great patio for people watching. We got a round of drinks and sat outside talking and enjoying the weather until the thunderstorm came in. We hurried inside to sit at a booth and watched all the rain drenced people pile in. We got a few more rounds until the rain tapered off then got back in the car and drove over to Ryan and Brittany's for dinner. I've got some more pictures of that for you later on.
Love and Hugs and have a great weekend!

Toronto Island with Britt and Ryan

Goodmorning everybody! I wanted to share some pictures from our great day yesterday. Brittany and I on bikes and Ryan on his rollerblades went down to the beer store and then to Keningston market for cheese and bread then drove all the way to the ferry terminal to head to Toronto Island for a picnic. It was a beautiful day and we wasted the afternoon away picnicking and meandering around the island. Brittany and Ryan took me to their favourite part called Snake Island where we were all alone and had a great view of the T.O. skyline. We even saw some airplanes landing in on the Toronto Island airstrip! On the bike ride back to the ferry terminal we stopped for a much needed ice cream. After we got to the mainland we decided that that was enough bike riding and walked our bikes up to Britt's restaurant and met Mom , Dad and Blake for a drink. Fun was had by all. Check it out.
Love and Hugs.

Cooking Inspiration after watching Julie and Julia

Yesterday Brittany, Mom and I went to see a double matinee of "The Time Traveler's Wife" and "Julie and Julia". They were both wonderful movies in their own right and we had a great time at the theater even watching the first movie in the V.I.P. room. The last movie we watched was about Julia Child's life in France and we were inspired to come home and make a feast. We decided to make a brushetta with all of mom's tomatoes from her back yard and for the main course we had BBQ'd trout with fresh thyme and lemon and grilled veggies. Mom made a yellow beat and green onion coleslaw to top the trout with. It was so delicious and I think Julia Child would have been proud. Take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think.
Love and Hugs.
